Antarctica Expedition Ship Departures
Most expedition ships set sail from Ushuaia in Chile. This port city, surrounded by snow capped peaks is the most southern city on Earth, the capital of the Tierra del Fuego region (land of fire). Spend a few days here, acclimatising to and enjoying your surroundings. Learn about the history of this port town by visiting the Museo Maritimo y del Presidio, which is found in the old National Prison. Then take a 7km steam train trip 'at the end of the world' through beautiful national park on the tren del fin del mundo. Book a premium class ticket and get served Patagonian delicacies and sparkling wine as you enjoy the view, a real treat!
