The most iconic temple is Pura Tanah Lot, set on a rocky islet with waves crashing around it. Accessible at low tide, you can walk up to the temple yet the temple itself is only open to the Balinese people.

What sights should I see in Bali?
Visit Mount Batur, the active volcano at the heart of Bali. At 1700m high, head up it pre-dawn to catch the spectacular sunrise and stunning far reaching views. Explore solo or go with an informative walking guide.
Surf and temple visit in the same day and visit Uluwatu Temple. In Balinese, its name translates literally as ‘Ulu’- ‘tip or land’s end’ and Watu as ‘Rock’. Perched on the cliffs, with some of Bali's best surfing waters below.
Ubud monkey forest. Home to hundreds of grey, long-tailed macaques and set within a lush jungle setting. With thick forest trees, temples to explore and monkeys swinging around you, a must visit! Be sure to hold on tight to your possessions and avoid direct eye contact with the monkeys as this can be seen as a sign of aggression!

When To Go
The DRY SEASON; April to September...hotter weather, more sunny days, less rain. Can be very busy during UK summer holidays.
The shoulder season months of May, June and September are great times to visit Bali.
The WET SEASON; October to March. We visited in November-it was very hot and humid, we explored in the mornings. Big downpours in the afternoon & evening. A really affordable time to visit.
Flight Time
Indirect from 16.5 hours.
We recommend a few days in Singapore!
