Ko Samui, Ko Pha-Ngan and Ko Tao are the main draw for visitors to this region. With stunning white sands, sparkling waters, and high-class resorts there is plenty to keep you entertained.

For eateries, cafés and bars head to Bo Phut, a popular beach town. Narrow streets are lined with Chinese shophouses, selling high quality clothing and jewellery. Known as the ‘Fisherman’s Village’, it holds a Mediterranean feel, largely from the fact it was a French outpost for several years.
Ko Tao, the baby of the islands, has a more laid-back feel than its neighbours. With white sandy beaches, fringed with steep hills and coastal jungles. Diving and snorkelling is the best here in the whole of Thailand. Neon reefs surround the island, and local wildlife includes reef sharks, stingrays and clownfish.
Ko Pha-Ngan is famous for its full moon parties, however this island has so much more to offer. Beaches, waterfalls and temples are plentiful, along with hiking routes and excellent diving. Why not relax on Hat Than Sadet beach, fringed prettily by coconut trees.
For an authentic Thailand, visit the mainland, which is still sparsely visited by tourists. Ao Khanom is a perfect choice for those wanting to avoid the crowds. With splendid beaches, largely undeveloped, the waters here are undisturbed by jet ski’s to protect the local pink dolphins.
