Outside of the hurricane belt
Start your holiday to Aruba:
Aruba lies outside of the hurricane belt and temperatures average 31 degrees throughout the year, with cooling trade winds. There is excellent snorkelling and scuba diving off the island, and
windsurfing and kite surfing are popular. Aruba offers a range of accommodation, from luxury all-
inclusive resorts to relaxing beachside boutique hotels.
Our top reasons to visit:
1. Stunning beaches
All the beaches are public, ensuring a culturally authentic experience. Eagle Beach is often
ranked as the world’s best and is famed for its gorgeous sunsets. Palm Beach is flanked by
luxury hotels, restaurants and bars and is renowned for its beach parties. Santo Largo is calm
with shallow falls.

2. Sporting activities
Dos Playa is for experienced surfers, while windsurfing and kite surfing are popular on
Fisherman’s Hut beach. Secluded and calm Arashi Beach is great for families, and has
excellent swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving and the opportunity for deep sea fishing.
Kayaking, jet skiing and banana rides are all possible off the island. Scuba diving off
shipwrecks is particularly popular.
Inland there are 3 golf courses and opportunities for horseback riding and mountain biking.
3. Architecture
The capital and port ORANJESTAD, is famous for its colourful colonial architecture. Visit the
downtown area for a spot of dancing. Oranjestad has a range of designer stores whereas the
local market is the place to go for affordable souvenirs.
Fort Zoutman was built in the 1770’s to deter pirates. It’s the oldest structure in Aruba.
4. Natural beauty
Arikok National Park covers 20% of Aruba, so check out the caves, hiking trails and dramatic
limestone cliffs. The natural pool at Conchi and stalactites and cave pictographs at Fontien
cave are all worth exploring. Aruba has an unusually dry climate with cacti flourishing in the
deserts and is generally flat with some hills in the centre.
If you want a viewpoint to see the island’s beauty, head to Alto Vista Chapel or California
Lighthouse.
5. Food and Drink
Freshly caught seafood features heavily on menus, so be sure to sample coconut shrimp and
lobster. Steak and ribs are popular too. Keshi Yena is cheese stuffed with meat. To drink, try
Ponche Crema, a rum and brandy-based liqueur.
