Climb 426 m up the Rock via the Mediterranean steps or take a 6 minute cable car ride for stunning views. A legendary pillar of Hercules, see where the Med meets the Atlantic and on a clear day spot the port of Tangier in Morocco. You won’t miss the famous Barbary Macaques monkeys, the only wild monkeys living in Europe. Hold on tightly to your possessions as they can be cheeky!
Be amazed by the Neanderthal caves, a Unesco World heritage site. Visit Gorman’s cave complex with its extensive research into early man. Spot the Moorish influences in ancient castles and fortifications and see military history in the underground bunkers, tunnels, defensive walls and gates.
Sunbathe or swim at Eastern, Little or Catalan bays or try diving, fishing, sailing or climbing. Search for whales and dolphins at sea and the abundance of migratory birds and butterfies. Ramble through Alameda wildlife conservation park in the beautiful botanic gardens and along Windsor Suspension bridge.
