4. Food and Drink
Rhodes has traditional Greek food with recipes handed down through generations. For locally grown fruit and vegetables, freshly caught seafood and island reared meats, try meze,
moussaka and souvlaki. For drinks, local wines, souma (a local spirit) and Greek coffee are
all here.
5. Sporting activities
On the N and E of the island, swimming, snorkelling and scuba diving are popular.
Windsurfing and kitesurfing takes place on the more exposed W coast of the island and Cape Prasonisi, the southernmost tip of the island, where the Aegean meets the Med. Having been caught in a rip current here...take care! Other popular activities include walking and hiking the coastal paths and pine forest interior.
