There are many beautiful beaches and coves to explore, lots of them Blue Flag. The large and lively Playa d’en Bossa is suitable for adults and children alike, and offers a range of watersports, eating places and markets. 3. Ibiza Old Town ‘Dalt Vila’ & Historical monuments
Sophisticated Ibiza Town is the island’s capital. The new part by the waterfront has high end restaurants, bars and markets. The old town ‘Dalt Vila’ is UNESCO protected, with medieval stone walls and cobbled streets. Climb to the top of the 13th century cathedral, Santa Maria d’ Elvissa, for stunning views, then head off to Almudaina castle. Near the archaeological museum is Puig des Molins, one of the largest and best preserved ancient necropolis in the world.
4. Shopping
The Old Town has a lovely range of boutique and designer shops. If you are looking for local handicrafts and souvenirs, check out the famous bohemian market at Es Cana, open every Wednesday.
5. Food and drink
You will be spoilt for choice, ranging from street food to gourmet. Santa Eulalia is the gastro capital of the island, so take a scenic river walk here before stopping off at a bar for sangria or the aniseed tasting local hiebas liquor. Sample the island’s famous fish stew, Zarzuela.
