THE BEST ISLANDS OF CROATIA
There are more than 1200 islands around Croatia, and fifty of these are inhabited. Each island has its own individuality, and they all have something for all ages and interests.
If you want to be with fewer visitors, we recommend visiting the islands either May to June or
September to October. Use local ferries to island hop, or sail between the islands or take a small cruise ship.

Our ‘Top Tips’ on the best ones to explore:
Hvar (Lavender island)
A luxury yacht location where you can celebrity watch, with a splendid range of restaurants, bars and shopping experiences. The island is known for its history, super beaches, nightlife
and vineyards. Immerse yourself amongst the wild lavender, which blooms in June and July,
olive groves and aromatic herbs such as rosemary.
Hvar Town can be busy and is home to the oldest public theatre in Europe (early 17th century). Make sure you climb to the Fortress for spectacular views of the Adriatic and further islands. Hvar is the main ‘party island’ but away from Hvar Town it is much more relaxing with plenty
of traditional fishing villages to explore.
