The E4 European Path has 91 hiking routes over 560 km. It would take 3-4 weeks to do it all but you can do sections of it. Cycling and mountain biking are popular on the island, especially around the picturesque Lasithi plateau. There are also opportunities for extreme sports such as skydiving, paragliding and rock climbing.

A full range of eateries using fresh local produce, fish and meats are available. Head inland to the mountain villages for good value, authentic Cretan food.
