WHY VISIT PARGA?
From Parga you can take boat excursions to other Ionian islands or further explore the region. Parga is surrounded by beautiful natural landscape...pine, cypress, olive and orange trees, hills, rivers & waterfalls. The many beaches and bays are stunning and suit all tastes.
Swimming and watersports are popular on Valtos (2 km long) and the pebbly and quieter Lichnos beaches with their crystal clear turquoise sea. There is a range of accommodation to suit all tastes and lovely shopping options, with craft shops, jewellers and galleries.
In the evening, Parga is buzzing with fish and grill restaurants, traditional tavernas, bistros and cocktail bars. Amble along the cobbled streets then tuck into delicious, fresh Greek food and sample ouzo and local wines while soaking up the ambience. The view from the largely ruinous 11th century Venetian castle is incredible. Other sights to explore nearby include the 19th century Al Pasha Ottoman castle on the hilltop of Centhoussa village, monasteries and the church of Panagia. In mid August there is the Kanaria festival to completely immerse yourself in local culture and traditions.
