Day 1: Fly to Quito (indirect). Transfer to a centrally located, comfortable hotel.
Day 2: Morning walking tour of the UNESCO centre of beautiful Quito. As a group you will then be driven to the Bellavista Cloud Forest. You will stay in a lodge in the heart of the cloud forest.
Day 3: A birdwatching tour in the morning. There are many species of hummingbirds to look for! Transfer to North Ecuador for several days in a beautiful hacienda.
Day 4: Meet the indigenous community of San Clemente who live near the Imbabura volcano. Enjoy a guided tour where you will get the opportunity to learn about their culture.
Day 5: Head to a beautiful caldera which was created thousands of years ago by a volcanic eruption. Walk alongside the lake for a few hours.
The next stop is Otavalo, which has a vibrant Andean market. Overnight in a hacienda.
Day 6: An incredible journey over the Papallacta Pass, found east of Quito. Bathe in the hot springs, with volcanoes in the distance. Venture downwards to the Amazon jungle for a stay in a rainforest lodge. A night walk at your lodge witnessing incredible wildlife!
Day 7: Explore the rainforest! Hopefully you will spot lots of wildlife! Visit a local rescue centre to see tapirs & capibaras.
Day 8: An awe-inspiring drive today along the Road of the Waterfalls. Lots of photo stops along the way. Spend the next two nights in Banos. Walking tour of Banos in the evening.
Day 9: Spot vicunas today as you head out to Chimborazo National Park, about 2 hours away. In the evening relax in the Banos thermal baths.
Day 10: Early in the morning, drive to beautiful Cuenca. Enroute, visit Ingapirca, the largest Inca site in Ecuador. Two nights in Cuenca.
Day 11: Half day tour of the old town of Cuenca. A free afternoon to explore.
Day 12: Spend an evening in the Cajas National Park. Mountain tops, lakes, lagoons and rivers...A two hour walk with plenty of wildlfe watching.
Day 13: Drive down towards the Pacific. Enjoy a boat trip through mangroves and in the afternoon there's a stop at a cocoa plantation. Final evening in Guayaquil.
Day 14: Fly back to the UK.
